What's the nerdiest thing about you?
At the moment? My desire to make GPS maps of my cycling and running routes using my Treo attached to my bike's handlebars via a cradle I made from duct tape and a Billy Bee honey bottle.
If you had a band, what would you call yourselves?
Question submitted by Zoot.
I think "Valued Squirrels" or "The Bram Stokers" or "Companionable Silence".

'Because the Night" done by 10,000 Maniacs.
Soda? Cola? Pop? What do you say? Any other regional words that set you apart?
Question submitted by Gladys.
It's pop up here in Canada. Soda is SO American to my ears. Funny story: My parents grew up in a small Newfoundland outport (Stones Cove). Pop. (not soda) 256. One day cargo from a shipwreck washed ashore. It was cases of pop. All sorts of flavours. Each family in the outport adopted a flavour and promptly hid the stashes in places only other family members knew about. Naught as queer as folk, as they say in British movies.
What's the most extreme weather you've been in? A memorable storm? Heat wave? Or something else?
In most recent memory, that would have been a tornado-esque rain and wind storm my wife and I camped through in Awenda Provincial Park in Ontario. It had rained all night and continued in sheets in the morning, the morning I had an hour-long conference call with nine educators across the province.
The only working phone was right outside the camp washroom and had no roof. I stood there, useless umbrella in one hand, sopping, running notes in another explaining how that odd booming sound was nearby thunder.
My wife (who had been patiently waiting in our nearby car) and I then returned to the campsite to drain our tent. The day was uphill from there.
What's one thing that you hope to do or accomplish before the end of this year?
Make a podcast, start to finish that from a content, production and audio quality point of view, is near perfect. Oh yes, and world peace.
What's the one CD that will totally remind you of the Summer of 2006?
Not a CD, actually, my wife built a killer roadtrip playlist for what we now call "Radio Barb and Wayne", that's my nano hooked into our Civic's tape deck. It's a real mix of driving tunes, oldies, Beatles and, our current fave, "Louisiana Saturday Night" a great song about folks we'd really rather not hang with, but are fun to sing along about. :-)
