Alzheimer's Exhibit Coming to Second Life
For the past three weeks I've been helping the Alzheimer Society of Ontario and Second Life Library 2.0 curator Shadow Fugazi put together a photo exhibition in Second Life. The show, called remember us, is a series of photographs by Hamilton, Ontario-based photographer Cathie Coward. The images, and the supporting text, give visitors a sense of what it's like to be part of the Alzheimer's community. We've added some cool interactive features, like a podcast listening station and a 10x lifesized walkthrough of brain scan slices (see image at right). SL consumer health librarian Carolina Keats of Health Info Island has produced a special medical reference text for the show.
The gala opening for the exhibition is December 14, at 5 p.m. SLT. You can drop by the Info Island Exhibit and Displays building (Info Island II 38,69,24) to check out the show. All Linden donations will go to helping the ASO furnish and equip a permanent educational space in Second Life. Hope you can check it out. If you do, please im me (Medium Helvetic) in game to say hi.
